Discover Jesus

THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION YOU WILL FACE …

“How will I respond to the call to follow Jesus Christ.” In Mark 2:14, Jesus approached a tax collector named Matthew and said, “Follow me.” At that point, Matthew had a decision to make. Should he follow, or should he stay put. Would he give up the comfortable life and routine he had built for himself, or would he leave it all behind to follow a man who claimed to be God in the flesh. What he discovered during his three-year travels with Jesus was that He was a perfect, sinless, compassionate, and gracious Savior. Christ has invited all human beings with the same invitation; “follow me.” Discovering Jesus is a lifelong commitment, and our genuine hope is that you would respond to the
call of Jesus Christ in humble obedience and joyfulness as you experience the gracious love HE has to offer YOU.

Unsure where to begin? The three steps listed below will help you get started.

A- Admit

Admit to God that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 states that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, while Romans 6:23 tells us that the consequences of that sin is death. The good news is that Christ is faithful and just to forgive us if we admit we are sinners in need of divine forgiveness (1 John 1:9).

B- Believe

Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is Lord of all. A jailor once asked Paul and Silas what must he do to be saved (Acts 16:30), and their reply was simply to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord (Acts 16:31). Yes, it is that simple. Believe.

C- Confess

Confess in faith that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of your life. “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9). Your verbal confession should be the outward sign of an inward change that is taking place. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

(Ephesians 2:8-9)
